PRINTER RANT!

My Samsung CLP 510 Colour Laser Printer has been an "OK" investment as I use it frequently to print off brochures for Basic Kneads. It is a fussy machine tho, and I have wasted oodles of paper trying to appease it's ill nature towards printing "photos" on brochure paper. (the toner doesn't want to stick to dark areas of photos mucking up copy after copy) Nonetheless, this wasn't nearly as aggravating as the latest "ERROR" message that indicated the "WASTE TONER CARTRIDGE" was full and required replacement. In short, I finally located one but only after some difficulty and irritation at the lack of ease in getting it. As it was, I was going to have to order it from a Toronto store that would only "SHIP" it.
I thoroughly examined the "$60 to replace piece" and couldn't figure out how or where the printer was communicating with it. There was no chip and no electronic eye as far as I could see. On a whim I decided to empty the cartridge out, which was easy, and rinsed it clean. BINGO it works fine and I saved myself the time and money!!! How the hell is it that these companies come up with bullshit ploys to make consumers spend more and more money??? I'll think twice in the future before purchasing more Samsucks devices.

chilly fun using blue!

I really enjoyed using atypical Christmas colours on the blue/green card.
The snowflake punch I bought has certainly come in handy!!

A couple more!

Using #10 business envelopes as the motivation....I created these cards to fit!
The pink card has die cut snowflakes behind the vellum and both cards have clear embossed white snowflakes stamped on the inside. Clear embossing powder was also melted on the metal words "wish" & "festive"

This paper was 2 sided.... jingle*jingle*jingle* on one side and bright red and festive on the other. Gotta love "made to match" layouts!

More X-Mas Fun

OMG I'm in trouble. I discovered another Scrapbooking store today with the most incredible paper and embellishments. It's less than 10 minutes from the house!! Must.........control.........self!!

I tore myself away from the store only $15 poorer (?) to try some cards without traditional Christmas colours for a bit!

My favourite one yet... the one with the yellow scalloped trim. The tiny snowflake punchouts each have a tiny red stone in the centre of the metal eyelet. The other looks quite similar to another made earlier but the scalloped edge and punched tag corner are new accents.

Last one for tonight... I made 4 cards today...I don't think I've ever made 4 in one day. Metallic red and silver brads and dollar store mini-gems made this card sparkle!

Various Cards

Having discovered www.photobucket.com I can't help but upload a few more pics of cards. I'm working on some more Christmas cards today!

Does it look like I was on a roll?

X-mas Cards are fun! I love the whimsical snowflake punch! Kills the old adage "no two are alike" but what the hell...they're versatile and super chilly! An eyelet set into the middle of a snowflake was handy!

Funky Hand thoughts

Funky Hand thoughts <-- coolest card site I've yet to find!

My room was a nightmare before I decided to organize the shit out of it. Afterwards, it was days before I could come up with an idea. Thankfully the imagination & motivation returned! 2 of the neat organizers I found at Ikea are the galvanized tins hangin on the wrought iron rod and the octopus/clothespeg laundry thingy hanging from the TV. The octopus thing allows you to clip-hang 16 items. (rub ons-lettering-stickers)

I liked the pink one so much I made one in blue! Textured centre papers behind hand-fashioned tags w/raffia. 3D foamy stickers coloured in and embossed stamp.
